The new DMG NLX 2500 lathe (2nd generation) expands our manufacturing capabilities

By investing in a new DMG NLX 2500 (2nd generation), PTM Präzisionsteile GmbH in Meiningen is systematically expanding its turning capabilities. The new machine complements our existing NLX 2500 (1st generation) and significantly expands our capacity while providing even greater flexibility in contract manufacturing.

Doubled capacity and greater security of supply

By purchasing a second machine of this type, we were able to virtually double our capacity in the area of CNC turning. For our customers, this means, above all:

  • shorter turnaround times

  • higher on-time delivery rate

  • greater flexibility for last-minute orders

At the same time, the second machine serves as an important backup in the event of unplanned downtime or maintenance periods. This allows us to ensure continuous production and avoid delays—a crucial advantage, especially for time-sensitive projects.

Technological Advantages of the Second Generation

The new NLX 2500 (2nd generation)offers numerous technological improvements over the previous model that directly impact the quality and efficiency of production:

  • Advanced machining capabilities: Multiple machining steps can be performed during a single setup

  • Reduction in Process Steps: Fewer re-tensioning operations result in greater precision and fewer sources of error

  • Optimized Process Workflows: Complete Machining on a Single Machine Saves Time

  • Higher Productivity: Improved Control Technology and Machine Performance

As a contract manufacturer, we and our customers benefit from these advantages, as complex components can be manufactured more efficiently and cost-effectively.

Faster turnaround times – direct benefits for customers

A key benefit of the new machine is its ability to combine multiple machining steps into a single machine. This eliminates time-consuming intermediate processes, material transport, and additional setup times.

The result:

  • shorter turnaround times

  • faster delivery to our customers

  • Consistently high quality with greater efficiency

Expansion of Existing Editing Capabilities

Even with our existing NLX 2500 (1st generation), we are able to reliably machine larger diameters. With the new machine, we are expanding this capability and can now handle projects:

  • plan more flexibly

  • manufacture in parallel

  • implement more quickly

Conclusion: By investing in the DMG NLX 2500 (2nd generation), we are consistently committing to modern manufacturing technology in order to offer our customers higher uptime, faster delivery times, and more cost-effective solutions.
