Sustainability & ESG at PTM

Since mid-2023, PTM has been operating its own photovoltaic system with a capacity of 210 kWp. The electricity generated is primarily used directly in production.

• Electricity generation: > 200,000 kWh per year (2024 and 2025)
• CO₂ savings: approx. 72 metric tons of CO₂ per year
  (Calculation basis: average German electricity mix, approx. 0.36 kg CO₂/kWh)

In this way, we not only reduce our own carbon footprint, but also improve our customers’ Scope 3 emissions.

In our new logistics facility, we are using a modern geothermal heat pump to heat an area of approximately 650 m².

• 8 geothermal probes, each approximately 100 m deep
• A completely fossil-free heat supply
• CO₂ savings compared to gas heating: approximately 13 metric tons of CO₂ per year

This investment ensures stable energy costs in the long term and reduces dependence on fossil fuels.

PTM offers turning, milling, wire EDM, and anodizing—all under one roof—from machining to surface finishing. This high level of vertical integration reduces:

• additional shipments
• Packaging costs
• Organizational interfaces / reduced logistical and organizational effort
• Reduced CO₂ emissions throughout the supply chain
